Señales-Trumpet (Neuheit Trompete) Everything that happens on boats fascinates me in an especial way. So, when I found out that earlier on, for over two centuries in transoceanic ships, the trumpets, were in charge through “signals” to mark the change of the guard (B), to greet other vessels (A) to inform the crew for meetings (C) or to call to use the lifeboats (D), I was instantly inspired to write this short piece. Throughout the piece, the first three “signals” are alternating and repeating, and the last one, as it actually happens, finishes with an inevitable wreck. Despite the sea, in a boat one almost always finds the strength; routine, endless horizons, the strength, the stillness, solitude, wind or not, and everything. It is the magic of making something unstable in stable, which is what I always pursue in my music. (Jesús González)
