Concerto Grosso, from the "Christmas Concerto" No. 6 Vivace and Allegro are taken from among the dozen works in Corelli’s Concerto Grosso, Opus 6. Popular as a violinist and composer, Corelli spent many years laboring over and perfecting the movements of Opus 6 which includes his most famous composition, the Christmas Pastorale. He utilizes the concerto grosso principle contrasting a smaller instrument ensemble (in this recording, portrayed by the solo organ) with the larger orchestra (portrayed by the addition of the trumpet). Arranged here for Piccolo Trumpet in B? and Organ. Recorded and released on "The Lyrical Trumpet 2".
