The Trumpet and Trombone in the Graphic Arts Selected prints most representative of the trumpet and trombone. A broad look at a narrow field has been attempted. The period of 1500 - 1800 has been choosen since a majority of graphic art works fall between these dates. The study of musical iconography has led to many enlightening conclusions pertaining to musical performance, and to further understanding of our rich musical heritage.
