Allegro Appassionato Frank Bridges Pensiero and Allegro Appassionato was first published in 1908 for Viola and Piano. The two movements are a perfectly balanced pair of pieces, the first being elegiac in mood and the second more outgoing and dramatic. They both show Bridges mastery of technique for piano and instrumental writing as well as chromatic harmony. This work is another fine example of Ralph Sauers vision of creating arrangements of great music previously unavailable to Trombonists. This work of about 8-minutes in length is appropriate for moderately advanced performers.
