Turkish March - Marche pour la Cérémonie des Turcs (5Hr) Jean-Baptiste Lully (1632 -1687) was an Italian-born French composer, guitarist, violinist, and dancer who is considered a master of the French Baroque music style. Best known for his operas, he spent most of his life working in the court of Louis XIV. Lully was a close friend of the playwright Molière, with whom he collaborated on numerous comédie-ballets. Amongst these is his best known work, Le Bourgeois gentilhomme. The Turkish March (Marche pour la Cérémonie des Turcs) is the concluding musical section of this famous play/ballet. French arranger Bruno Peterschmitt arranged this march for a Horn quintet.
