Effusion ffusion was written for members of the Twin Cities Horn Club and was first performed by the composer, Jim Peterman, Michelle Kahler, Lilabeth Swalley, and Bob Olsen on August 23, 2021 at an outdoor concert. It is a short fast syncopated a-b-a-b form in three-four time. The title comes from the effusive joy which permeates the piece. It is written for five horns in F with a standard high/low distribution of ranges.
