Romanze (Flugelhorn 1, Flugelhorn 2, Horn in F, Trombone, Tuba) As with the original setting, the Romanze (Opus 36) features the horn in Leachs beautiful arrangement for brass quintet. Her version calls for a pair of flugelhorns, but trumpets can be substituted, either using bucket mutes or playing into the stand. This short, song-like ensemble piece could serve as a welcome respite during the program.
