Wexford Carol (Irish) (414.01.Pk.Tenor Drum) (Programme note: The Wexford Carol, from County Wexford in Southern Ireland, dates from the 12th Century. It is one of the oldest carols and tradition until recent times was that it should only be sung by male voices for superstitious reasons. This version attempts to add a folk style to the setting in keeping with its distant roots. Performance note: Play with a lilting rhythm and light articulation. Some ornaments are applied but feel free to alter or add to these suggestions. Trumpet 1 requires a piccolo.)
