Kubismus 502 The German word "Kubismus" translates to "Cubism" which aptly describes the angular lines of this interesting piece, which features the trumpet. In Cubism, objects are analyzed, broken up and reassembled in an abstracted form instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from a multitude of viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context. The "502" in the title refers to the duration, which is five minutes and two seconds. Derek Watkins trumpet solo is transcribed, or the player may improvise over the provided chord changes.
