Chops a la Salsa This tour de force piece was recorded on FIRST BRASS and featuring the trumpet section and solo trombone. There is plenty of space for trombone improvisation, and for those that dont improvise, a spectacular written out solo as played by Bart van Lier has been provided. This original composition brilliantly captures an authentic salsa feel without any percussion whatsover! The composer writes... Chops a La Salsa - working title "Salsa" before my brassy wife and collaborator renamed it so cleverly - started with me playing around with some bass lines on my small electric piano. Once there was a groovy rhythm in my mind the melodies just followed somehow, and it all came together like a jigsaw puzzle. I am pleased every time Im told how well it worked out in the recording.
