Canzon Primi Toni Product Description Canzon Primi Toni is one of the many polyphonic works Giovanni Gabrieli wrote for Brass. Giovanni Gabrieli published collections entirely comprising his own work. The Canzon primi toni appeared in his Sacrae symphoniae of 1597 It was originally written for eight parts, divided into two choirs of four parts each. It begins with a theme based on a characteristic long–short–short rhythmic pattern, announced by the first choir, which is repeated by the second choir. Also this arrangement uses 2 brass choruses.
