Concerto für Tuba und Orchester (Partitur) (This concerto, written in 1980, is a concertante work for the traditional audience, but without technical or musical concessions for the tuba. The structure is inspired by the classical sonata, with a main theme and a lyrical part which intertwine. The motives are developed in the cadenza. The technical and musical ressources of the soloist are confronted, treated here as a concertante partner. NB. This concerto was conceived for the bass tuba in C, but the third movement may ideally be played on a F-tuba. The ossia passages are suggested to players using a bass tuba in Bb. The concerto by Valery Stukow (1937-2005) was played by the tuba finalists (Jens Bjorn-Larsen, Oystein Baadsvik et Oren Marshall) of the International Competition in Geneva (Switzerland), September 13, 1991 in the Victoria Hall with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande conducted by Enrique Garcia-Asensio.)
