Esmeralda (000.22) This piece was commissioned by the euphonium tuba ensemble, Tubium, in January of 2005. “Esmeralda” is compelling music popular in the 16th and 17th centuries. The origin of the word came from a beautiful woman named Esmeralda. The director of Tubium, Mr. Akira Toda, said he was looking for new compositions that would extend and develop the euphonium tuba ensemble repertoire; it became the inspiration for this composition. It has more lyrical phrases than my previous composition “Rhapsody” and it concludes very much like my music. I hope this piece will be performed for many occasions such as concert, contest, or even for fun. Brain Ensemble Collection 079 Instrumentation: Partitur 1. Euphonium in C 2. Euphonium in C 1.
