Fujiko Fujiko is a melancholy and reflective work for cornet & piano which explores tension and release via harmonic and rhythmic exploration, all the time retaining an infectiously strong melodic line and shape. After the initial commission from the British Clarinet Ensemble, Fujiko has been arranged (at request) by the composer for numerous brass, wind and string soloists and ensembles. Recordings include include Fodens Band & Mark Wilkinson, João Pedro Silva (saxophone) & string quartet, and flautist Andy Findon with wind band. Saxophonist Jess Gillam performed Fujiko live on television in the semi-final of the BBC Young Musician of the Year. Fujiko has been arranged by the composer for cornet & piano. Performed regularly worldwide, the haunting and atmospheric Fujiko is a favourite with audiences.
