Christe Sanctorum Variants “Christe Sanctorum” Variants is a composition in the form of a theme with three variations. It can be performed as a single set, or the four parts could be played separately. For instance, they could be played at various points in a single church service, or interspersed between the verses of a congregationally-sung hymn. The tune, “Christe Sanctorum,” comes from the Paris Antiphoner of 1681. It is well-known in Protestant and Catholic hymnals as “Father, We Praise You,” “Father Most Holy,” “Praise and Thanksgiving,” “Lord of the Living,” or “Christ Is the World’s Light.”
