Film

Film Film was originally written as a movement from the commission ‘Seven Dances & No Looking Back’ for the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet. It was subsequently arranged, at Andy’s request, by Jim Fieldhouse for brass band, and included on the CD recording ‘Spirit of Foden’s – the music of Andy Scott’, performed by Foden’s baritone soloist Natsumi McDonald & Foden’s Band, conducted by Michael Fowles. The brass band arrangement has also been performed by notable soloists such as Katrina Marzella, and performed and recorded by Kristy Rowe. Natsumi approached Andy about the possibility of an arrangement of Film that is scored for baritone and piano, which was completed by the composer and premiered by Natsumi & Yuki Kagajo in Alsager, Cheshire, July 2016. Film is a gentle and fragile work, expressive and melodic, with subtle interplay between baritone horn and piano
