Requiem Aeternam from the Requiem (5Pos) This quiet section near the end of the Verdi Requiem is one of the moments I most eagerly anticipate whenever I play the piece. In contrast to the clamorous intensity of much of the rest of the work this is some of the most beautifully peaceful music Verdi ever wrote. Originally for Soprano Soloist with SATB choir a capella, this transcription works well for a quintet, or for Solo with trombone choir accompaniment. The Solo part is high enough that Alto trombone is appropriate. I have included a set of alternate lower parts in this publication, which may work better in some situations than my originally chosen key. This movement can be very effective when paired with the Sanctus which I have transcribed for eight trombones
