Allerseelen Richard Strauss was a German-born composer and conductor. He emerged shortly after the death of Wagner and Brahms as one of the most important Germanic composers. His career spanned almost eight decades. He composed in all genres, but is most famous for his tone poems. His vocal lied, Allerseelen, which means "All Souls Day", was composed in 1940.
