Syd The Spoon “Syd the Spoon” was written for John D Elliott’s lower brass group “Brasso ProFUNdo” as a sequel to “Fred the Fork”. It is in a lively 4/4 time but with the inclusion of triplet rhythms, which could be complemented with a spoon accompaniment. The theme is in the minor key with major version of the theme in the middle section. The piece contains cryptic tributes to a 1940s Big band leader. Some later thinking is required to connect the finale with a famous animator. “Syd the Spoon” is originally scored for two euphoniums (trombones) and a tuba, however we have included a range of parts to suit: Part 1 Euphonium/Trombone - Bass Clef Euphonium/Trombone - Treble Clef Horn in F Tenor Horn in Eb Part 2 Euphonium/Trombone - Bass Clef Euphonium/Trombone - Treble Clef Part 3 Eb Bass Tuba
