Lohengrin (443.11.Pk.Sz) (Neuheit Ensemble) Lohengrin: Lohengrins Arrival, Kings Prayer, Divine Judgement and Triumphant Song for brass ensemble and percussion - score 14 p. & parts. Richard Wagners opera Lohengrin (1848) is based on the medieval ‘Knight of the Swan’ legend. This arrangement focuses on the first act of the opera, where the brass section plays a prominent role: trumpets announce the arrival of the King and accompany Lohengrin’s victory, lower brass instruments depict the combat between Lohengrin and Telramund in canon, and the King’s Prayer is accompanied solely by the brass section. A euphonium is added to perform the vocal parts of Lohengrin and King Heinrich. Otherwise, the original instrumentation has largely been preserved.
